In the wake of a July 26 hearing on the lifetime ban on gay blood donors conducted by the Food and Drug Administration’s Blood Products Advisory Committee, two Congressmen have kept up the push to rescind a ban that many see as discriminatory and unnecessary.

World Blood Donor Day were celebrated June 14 and the America's Blood Centers and Nexcare Bandages would like to encourage the community to give and spread awareness about the need for blood donations.

June 14th is World Blood Donor Day and Flag Day. In an effort to raise awareness around the importance of blood donation while thanking those who do give, the Nexcare™ brand developed cool limited edition “give” bandages, which will be distributed by America’s Blood Centers nationwide. Give blood, save a life, get a cool bandage. Sounds perfect to us!

Nexcare Brand and America’s Blood Centers have come together for their second annual give program. It’s a nationwide blood drive that kicks off on World Blood Donor Day, Monday, June 14th, and goes through Sunday, June 20th. Nexcare has designed three different limited edition bandages that represents the American flag and shows the world that each wearer is a chic, American hero or heroine for donating blood.

The Nexcare GIVE mission is seeking to spread awareness about the need for blood donation. Blood donation centers across the country will be joining in this celebration and distributing limited edition Nexcare GIVE bandages to those who donate blood from June 14th to June 20th.

Nexcare has partnered with America’s Blood Centers to make blood donation a national priority, thanking donors and encouraging repeat donations.   To support this initiative, Nexcare will be distributing bandages today featuring the word give as a message of inspiration and gratitude.

Monday, June 14th is World Blood Donor Day, but UBS plans on honoring the day all week long. UBS has partnered with America's Blood Centers and Nexcare Give Bandages for this worldwide celebration.

Bright red, white and blue "give" bandages may adorn the arms starting Monday as part of a nationwide initiative to get more people to donate blood.

Carter BloodCare celebrates World Blood Donor Day Monday with Nexcare bandage brand and will run through June 20th.

This Monday, June 14, is World Blood Donor Day! This year is especially important because it is also Flag Day. The "Give" campaign is giving out special Nexcare bandages for those who donate. The bandages are patriotic this year to celebrate both Flag Day and a day of giving blood. The bandages tell everyone that you care about making a difference in the world. You must be 16 (some states are 17) years old to donate.

June 14, 2010 is World Blood Donor Day.  I sincerely urge you to find a local Blood Donation Center and give blood. You will be helping someone in the most generous way possible.  Plus, you'll get some of the nifty Nexcare bandages.

With the support of hundreds of participating local blood centers, the give program inspires Americans with a message of hope, and helps them to spread the word by distributing limited-edition Nexcare Bandages marked with the word give.
